So it would seem that buses do well off the asphalt in other countries ... in this case, dense and chilling mists of decidedly spectral nature cast a pall over the fens and bogs of Northern Ireland's northern seaboard in what looks like some rather cold weather, as Paul Cullen and friends take a caravelle up the backtrails of spooky ol' Ireland .....
"We went up Benevennagh Mountain on the north coast of Ireland this afternoon, used the forestry trails to get right up to the lake and dam at the top; mud, dirt, SNOW, fog, mist, etc., etc ... awesome afternoon's craic, then we found a turfcutter's trail that cut up further off the track, drove up it for about two miles until it just ended ... I'm assuming it just ends as the tv antennae for the entire north coast is up there somewhere .... we managed to get the bus turned 'round without it falling into the bog on either side of the track ... we were out and about trying to find somewhere off the beaten path for our solstice campout in December ... I feel I might not be alone in hoping for more photos and stories from our Irish friends. It could well be, however, that they are just a bit too busy, so in order to get a real sense of what backroad bussing in Ireland is truly like, we may just have to go there ourselves and find out! But in the meantime, don't be afraid to poke Paul with a pointed stick in attempts to goad him into sending us some more stuff ...
